… Winter!
It is almost here [Post #2] and tourists from around the world will be flooding into the alpine resorts of Japan for their renowned powder snow and amazing onsens (hot springs).
Back in Aussieland, people would drive many hours to get to a decent snow resort, whereas, Japan’s amazing public transport will get you to an excellent snow resort in a matter of hours from Tokyo.
One of the closest and easiest-to-get-to-resort is Gala Yuzawa (http://www.galaresort.jp/winter/english/) – 75 mins via Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo Station to the Gala Yuzawa ticket counters. The facilities there are amazing as well with good rental equipment, large locker area, onsen, rest area, etc.
