Before arriving, what I knew was from the media… which often dramatised the earthquakes in Japan, leaving many in the dark of what the real situation is like. Having experienced 2 mid class earthquakes while in a building, it’s actually part and parcel of the life here. Earthquakes happen all across Japan every couple of hours and in varying magnitude.
If you’re ever here and experience an earthquake, don’t freak out… 🙂 Then again, the Japanese are expecting the large Tohoku earthquake to hit soon and Mt Fuji to become active again… but nobody knows when =P
